My Summer At Impact Washington – Settling In

Wednesday, May 24, 2017 | News Release

Burlington, Vermont

Having spent the last several years in Burlington, Vermont, I had always heard of the other artsy forest city on the far side of the country. Curious about how this supposed home away from home holds up, I decided to find employment in the Seattle area and spend the summer experiencing it. My search ended abruptly after meeting Loren Lyon and Jessica Ingle at Impact Washington. Helping local small businesses aligned perfectly with my intentions of getting to know the area, so I landed here a few weeks ago.

As I joined, we were jumping into a new software infrastructure, Salesforce. As a result, much of my time has been spent learning that system as one of the administrators for the organization. While the training was going on, the entirety of the team was in the office. As a result, I had the opportunity to meet and interact with the diverse crowd we compose. Now I’m figuring out where Impact Washington is most successful within the manufacturing industry and how we can highlight that.

There are still several months left before I return home. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to heading into the field to meet manufacturers and continue learning and improving with Impact Washington

Damon Devani is a Champlain College in Vermont student, working with Impact Washington for the summer of 2017 as our Data Analytics Intern.  Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and filming. He’s looking forward to exploring the area and getting to know the business over the next few months.
