A few weeks ago, Damon Nix, CSP, Director of Business Development, and Miguel Angel Moreno Hierro our, Small and Rural Manufacturers Account Executive, traveled to Knoxville, TN for the kickoff of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)'s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP)'s Tab Wilkins Emerging Leaders Class 1.14!
Tab was the thought leader behind creating the successful Emerging Leaders (EL) Program, now in its 14th year. The program provides Network staff the opportunity to work on various projects to identify, understand, and unravel solutions to challenges faced by manufacturers in the ever-evolving ecosystem. Emerging Leaders has been an incubator for new MEP leaders with well over 100 graduates across the Network
Throughout the workshop, Damon and Miguel will better understand the NIST MEP history, program, strategy, and leadership; participate in discussions with other MEP centers on workforce, supply chain, Industry 4.0, and how we can better serve our manufacturers. They will also network with other MEP centers and learn how other centers run, what is working, and what they would like to improve upon. They will have an opportunity for team-building activities and better understand advanced manufacturing through a tour of a manufacturing demonstration facility.
This year-long program provides participants with a variety of training and networking opportunities. Participants bring diversity, talent, and readiness to contribute to the success of the MEP National Network™.
