New Board Members 2023

Impact Washington Announces Three New Board Members

New members will enhance the board's focus on the needs of manufacturers around the state.

"We're excited to expand our board with three new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight into manufacturing," said Deloit R Wolfe, JR., President, and Center Director of Impact Washington – NIST MEP. "We have worked diligently to ensure Impact Washington's board and leadership represents a variety of experts from a various  manufacturing industries, higher education, state leadership, and advocacy groups, and the newest board members are no exception."

The new board members began their three-year terms with Impact Washington effective April 27, 2023, and can serve a maximum of two terms. The three new board members are:

  • Scott Reader, General Manager/Owner, Rainier Woodworking Company
  • Tommy Gantz, Director of Business Development, TLG Aerospace
  • Wendy Flick, Chief Compliance Officer, Heritage Distilling Co.

If you're like us, you've probably heard about the alarming rise in phishing attacks targeting our personal information. It seems like no matter where we turn—whether it's our computer, the news, or our online activities—the term "phishing" keeps popping up, always in a negative context. Maybe someone in your organization has fallen victim to one of these malicious attempts.

I 90 Conference 1

More than 200 aerospace supply chain leaders convene each year in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for the I-90 Aerospace Corridor Conference & Expo produced by INWAC.

In 2023, they are introducing a “Smart Manufacturing Demonstration Zone” sponsored by Impact Washington - NIST MEP and TechHelp - Idaho Manufacturing Specialists. The zone will include a select number of companies demonstrating how their machines, tools, and software can be game changers in production efficiency, cost savings, and innovation.

Cybersecurity Framework Webinar

Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information: What’s New in Draft SP 800-171, Revision 3 | Webinar

NIST is hosting a virtual webinar to overview the significant changes in NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-171, Revision 3, Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations. Space is limited.

This revision to NIST SP 800-171 represents over one year of data collection, technical analyses, customer interaction, redesign, and development of the security requirements and supporting information to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Draft SP 800-171, Revision 3 is available for public comment through July 14, 2023. See the publication details for a draft copy, additional resources, and comment submission instructions.
 
During this webinar, NIST will:

  • Provide an overview of the significant changes in Draft SP 800-171, Revision 3
  • Describe the design principles and rationale behind the significant changes.

Women in Manufacturing - Washington Chapter

FSPCA Animal Food Event June

FSPCA Animal Food Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals (PCQI)

Learn how to write and update an animal food safety plan. This is the standardized curriculum recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration for training individuals to be qualified to oversee the safe manufacture of animal food (PCQI). The course is a prerequisite for inspectors conducting FDA CGMP inspections.

The reduced workshop registration fee is $300/person subsidized by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Animal Feed Department
