Maddie Merton

Southwest Washington


Maddie Merton serves as Impact Washington’s Account Executive for Southwest Washington, partnering with manufacturers to strengthen operations, improve productivity, and drive sustainable growth. She supports companies across Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, Wahkiakum, and Klickitat counties by connecting them to technical assistance, training, and funding resources that enhance competitiveness and workforce capabilities.

With more than 15 years of experience in economic and workforce development, Maddie has helped hundreds of businesses expand, modernize, and navigate complex growth challenges. Prior to joining Impact Washington, she served as Vice President of Business Retention & Expansion at the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County, where she facilitated more than $200 million in private investment, secured over $5 million in state grant funding, and supported the creation and retention of 3,000+ jobs. She also led public-private partnerships that strengthened manufacturing, aerospace, maritime, healthcare, and clean-tech sectors.

Earlier in her career, Maddie led manufacturing workforce initiatives at WorkForce Central and managed regional business development for Ajilon Finance Solutions. She is known for building collaborative partnerships that align workforce pipelines with industry needs to advance regional competitiveness and community vitality.

Maddie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Finance and Economics from Eastern Washington University and is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute. She is an active member of the Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) and the American Leadership Forum (ALF).
