Nick is the newest member of the Account Executive Team. He has a passion for understanding the challenges that manufacturers face and looks forward to becoming a resource hub that the Eastern Washington manufacturing ecosystem can rely upon and seek support.
Nick started his career with boots on the ground as a front-line supervisor and can relate and interface well with everyone in an organization, from the production floor to the CEO. He knows because he has been in their shoes and fought the same battles.
With a solid understand of how time-critical their business decisions can be, he operates with the same urgency and drives as his clients. He comes to Impact Washington with board experience in various manufacturing methods such as investment casting, forging, composite fabrication, assembly, machining, and welding.
Nick has three years of experience working within the NIST MEP National Network. As Regional Director of Impact Utah, he developed and deployed an organizational transformation model for Utah manufacturers to understand their key objectives and drive sustainable change and improved cultures. Nick has experience diagnosing and delivering solutions to manufacturers across their enterprise: Continuous Improvement, Quality Management Systems, Organizational Strategy and Change, Team Building, Cybersecurity, Food Safety, ERP, and Market Intelligence. He was also able to grow strategic partnerships in Utah's manufacturing community to maximize the Center's value to manufacturers.
Before joining Impact Utah, Wilkes held leadership positions at 7 facilities within Precision Castparts in Operations Management, Production Control, and Program Management capacities. Most recently, Nick directed a cross-functional Program Management team of 8 individuals responsible for executing $100 million of annual deliveries for commercial aerospace, business jet, and military missile manufacturing contracts.
When not working his therapy comes in the form of combining the beauty of the outdoors with a dose of adrenaline. In the summer you can find him mountain biking and during in the winter skiing somewhere in the backcountry. Recently, trail-building has become a labor of love.
