Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in 1997, Impact Washington provides high performance business and technical assistance to Washington’s small to mid-sized manufacturers.

Impact Washington is an integral part of Washington’s statewide manufacturing strategy, as it seeks to transform the factory floor and beyond to build a positive sustainable impact on businesses, the workforce, and the community. As one of a network of 51 independent but collaborating MEP centers nationwide, Impact Washington can bring integrated and standardized services and training to the manufacturing community that benefits from industry driven processes and practices. Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is a resource area of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Partnering with state partners as well as economic development organizations across the state, Impact Washington brings its expertise to a wide variety of Washington manufacturing companies, with services tailored to meet each company’s most critical needs.

Outreach Strategy:

  • Working with supervisor, maintains an annual marketing and communications calendar and ensures that work is planned and completed according to schedule. 
  • Adheres to and ensures consistent use of Impact Washington's branding, messaging, and style guidelines. 
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with Impact Washington workforce and economic development partners to drive brand awareness in the community. 
  • Identifies opportunities for community education, schedules presentations, prepares materials, and serves as a speaker/community educator as needed.
  • Working collaboratively with supervisor, plans and implements community outreach strategies with an emphasis on driving leads and engagements. 

Content:

  • Writes and designs a variety of content in both print and digital formats, for internal and external audiences, ensuring consistent branding/messaging in all channels and mediums. 
  • Plans, develops, and implements updates to social media, staying on brand and message.
  • Manages updates to website so content stays fresh, current, and compelling. 
  • Manages production and distribution, and maintains inventory, of print materials.

Operations & Support:

  • Serves as Impact Washington's photographer as needed, including scheduling shoots, editing images, and managing digital asset library. 
  • Serves as a representative of Impact Washington, attending a variety of community meetings and events, including hosting exhibitor tables as needed.
  • Coordinates special projects requiring internal and/or external marketing and communication.
  • Coordinates special events related to internal or external public relations. 
  • Enter leads in CRM from events, public engagements, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, update mailing lists and specialized lists (media, partners, and legislators).
  • Monitor website inbound leads and follow-up with sales prospects or distribute to the sales team accordingly.

Marketing Performance:

  • Collects, monitors, and analyzes marketing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Other Duties:

  • Demonstrates ability to convey knowledge of Impact Washington services, regulations, and payment sources in an easily understood manner.
  • Performs specialized market research for Leadership and Sales teams as necessary.

Education:

  • BS in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field required.

Experience and Training:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ marketing, communications, sales, or community outreach experience required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing/business preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.

This full-time position is a hybrid / remote job. Some regional travel will be required. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, creative, and capable of working independently while also functioning as part of a team. Salary Range: $58,000 – $88,000
